EVA imports in October continued to decline slightly, with imports from South Korea increasing by 4.15% against the trend [SMM Analysis]

SMM, Nov 25: According to customs data, EVA imports in October were 57,500 mt, down 3.6% MoM and 48.11% YoY.

SMM, Nov 25: According to customs data, EVA imports in October were 57,500 mt, down 3.6% MoM and 48.11% YoY. Cumulative imports from January to October were 782,400 mt, down 32.78% YoY. The EVA market is gradually shifting towards Southeast Asia and South Korea. Additionally, the rapid development of module and supporting projects in the US has created new market opportunities for EVA. Meanwhile, demand in India and the Middle East is growing rapidly, with expanding application fields. Due to the rapid expansion of domestic capacity, EVA prices have continued to decline, and imported EVA is gradually expanding into overseas markets.

In October, imports by region were as follows: 32,500 mt from South Korea (56.66%), 9,300 mt from Taiwan, China (16.21%), approximately 4,500 mt from Saudi Arabia (7.87%), 4,300 mt from Thailand (7.61%), and 1,900 mt from the US (3.43%).

The main EVA suppliers in South Korea are Hanwha Total, LOTTE Chemical, LG Chem, etc. The import volume in October increased by 4.15% MoM compared to September.
The main EVA suppliers in Taiwan are Formosa Plastics and USI Corporation. The import volume in October decreased by 15.65% MoM compared to September.
The main EVA suppliers in Thailand are Dow, TPI, TPC, etc. The import volume in October increased by 5.86% MoM compared to September.
